The international Terminology Summer School – TSS 2022 is about the WHY, WHAT and HOW of professional Terminology Management, with focus on terminology for translation.

Day 1 is dedicated to the WHY: UNDERSTANDING TERMINOLOGY MANAGEMENT FOR TRANSLATION
We will understand why terminology theory is important for translators, and why professional terminology management is crucial for the quality of translations.
Day 2 and Day 3 are about the WHAT and the HOW: TERMINOLOGY MANAGEMENT FOR TRANSLATION and FOR THE TRANSLATION BUSINESS
We will discuss what translators should know from the very beginning of their academic education, and how to do terminology management for translation purposes.
We will present terminology tools, share case studies, and discuss what matters in terminology: PEOPLE – PROCESSES – TOOLS.
We will also learn about the costs of terminology management, and legal issues involved in terminology.
And we will have great food for thought in a Terminology Breakfast on Sunday morning: Tilde, our partner and leader of the FedTerm project, will give us an online presentation about Machine Translation, Terminology and the Free FedTerm Terminology Management System.
Day 4 is another highlight of TSS 20222, the practical application of the WHY, WHAT and HOW of Terminology Management:
Your colleagues and peers from all over the world will present their own terminology projects. This is the oral exam to qualify as ECQA Certified Terminology Manager.
