After much debate with myself, I signed up for the online Terminology Summer School as I dreaded spending four days in front of the computer. However, the experience proved to be exhilarating! The rich programme and the many opportunities to interact with other participants in breakout rooms left me fully immersed! I very much enjoyed the different presentations and the varied presenters’ profiles. The TSS catered for constructive discussions during and following the presentations. On the last day, the presentation of individual projects was an excellent opportunity to get feedback on a project I just started and take the oral exam towards the ECQA Advanced Terminology Management Certification.
So many takeaways packed in 4 days! Not to mention the management of the online event, which was just amazing! A striking balance between presentations, breaks, and discussions every day. My only regret was missing the virtual dinner!
I am definitely going to the next TSS, be it online or in-person!

I came back to the office bursting with energy and motivation. The presentations were extremely diverse and informative. More importantly, I could meet with wonderful people who share the same struggles. It felt good to realise that I am part of a community with a similar mindset and common objectives.
Certification - Terminology

Now it is much more difficult for people to argue that terminology is just a sideline, and can be done with no sweat.
Certification - LSPs
The certification has been helping twofold: eurocom won new customers and was able to manage the growth thanks to the standardized processes. In addition, the standard ensures transparency above all for our customers, whose satisfaction we also (must) regularly check.
